What is in a name…

…ISAAC

Genesis 17:21
I AM said: But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.”

God renamed Abram to Abraham in Genesis 17 as part of his covenant to make him the father of many nations. The original name, Abram, means “exalted father,” while the new name, Abraham, means “father of many” or “father of a multitude”.

I Am has sent me to you
The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.

Divided you fall.

I Am Holy Word is love and God is love and love wins,

Covenant Promise Given to Abraham

Established with Isaac and the Fulfillment in Jesus Christ is the ultimate fulfillment of this blessing. Through his life, death, and resurrection, the promise made to Abraham was expanded beyond just his physical descendants. Grace for All Nations: According to the writings of the apostle Paul in the New Testament, specifically in the book of Galatians, anyone who has faith in Jesus shares in the spiritual inheritance of Abraham. This means that salvation and God’s favor are open to people of all backgrounds and nations.

Luke 3:23–38. It traces the lineage of Jesus through King David’s son Nathan, rather than Solomon. This is widely understood by scholars to represent the biological line of Mary.

Galatians 4:21-31
Hagar and Sarah
Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.

These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written:

“Be glad, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”

Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

The Child Ishmael Born Through the Servant
Abraham and Sarah grew impatient while waiting for the child God had promised. Sarah gave her Egyptian servant Hagar to Abraham as a wife. Abraham went in to Hagar, and she conceived and bore a son named Ishmael.

Genesis 16:11-12
The angel of the Lord also said to her:

“You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.
You shall name him Ishmael,
for the Lord has heard of your misery.
He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward all his brothers.”

A Wild Donkey of a Man: This ancient metaphor, a life of wild, untamable freedom, living independently on the open desert rather than settling down in cities or under strict rules. A turbulent life of conflict. His descendants will face frequent opposition from others, and will often be at odds with surrounding nations and their own relatives.

I have a great joy and laughter in others also laughing clearly with God, because this I know well. Also, as I enjoyed it, recognizing the beauty and joy of the funny yet amazing possible in the impossible that only God can do. God loved this laughter so much that He literally told them to name the baby Isaac, which means “He Laughs” or “Laughter”. Isaac Hebrew word Yitzchak (יִצְחָק). And I know it, and I show it. It is immense and very funny and beautiful. God is beyond time and at all time PERFECT.  Every single time Abraham and Sarah called their son’s name for the rest of their lives, they were reminded of that funny, amazing moment of holy impossibility.

Sarah’s Joyful Response: When Isaac was finally born, Sarah perfectly expressed that exact feeling you described. She said: Genesis 21:6 “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me” .

The Beauty of the Impossible: It shows a beautiful side of God’s character. He doesn’t just perform cold, sterile miracles; He performs miracles that bring immense delight, wonder, and shared laughter to His people. It is wonderful that you carry that same spirit and know that exact joy yourself.

I have to be careful not to turn this into another article because I have so much more to say…

…Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Genesis 17:17
Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”

Genesis 16:16
Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

Genesis 21:5
Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

The Claim of Muhammad’s Experience in the Cave

Nearly 600 years after Jesus — specifically between 575 and 580 years after Jesus. According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad (then about 40 years old) was in the Cave of Hira on a mountain near Mecca. An angel appeared to him, commanded him to “Read,” and began delivering revelations that formed a different message about God, salvation, and the way to God.

The message presented itself as coming from the same God who spoke previously, yet it denied central truths already established about Jesus Christ (His deity, His death for sin, and His exclusive role as the only way to the Father

Warning Against Any Angel Bringing Another Gospel

UPDATE This is also connected to article done 08.19.2026
Galatians 1:8-10
No Other Gospel

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Islamic Sources on the Revelation
From the Quran
:
The Quran states that the revelation was brought down by the Trustworthy Spirit. Identified in Islamic tradition as Gabriel:

Quran 26:192-195
“And truly this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds, which the trustworthy Spirit has brought down upon your heart, that you may be of the warners, in a clear Arabic language.”

Quran 2:97
“Say, ‘Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel — for he brings down the revelation to your heart by Allah’s permission…’”

The first verses traditionally identified as the beginning of the revelation are:

Quran 96:1-5
“Read in the name of your Lord who created — created man from a clinging substance. Read, and your Lord is the most Generous, who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.”

Holy Spirit
Muslims believe in the Holy Spirit, but the Islamic understanding is very different from the Christian concept. In Islam, the Holy Spirit is recognized as the Archangel Gabriel (known as Jibril in Arabic).

The Holy Spirit is not considered a part of God, nor is he a deity or a part of a Trinity.

The Role of the Holy Spirit

  • Delivering Revelations: In Islam, the primary role of the Holy Spirit is to deliver God’s word to the prophets.
  • Assisting Prophets: He is believed to have brought the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad and to have strengthened the Prophet Jesus (known as Isa in Islam) during his life.
  • Different Identity: While Christianity views the Holy Spirit as a distinct divine person within the Trinity, Islam strictly holds that God (Allah) is one indivisible entity.

References in the Quran

The Quran refers to the Holy Spirit as Ruh al-Qudus (meaning “the Spirit of Holiness”). It is mentioned in verses like:

  • Surah Al-Baqarah 2:87: States that God supported Jesus with the Ruh al- Qudus.
  • Surah An-Nahl 16:102: States that the Ruh al-Qudus brings down the revelation from God to the Prophet Muhammad.

Putting the Pieces Together
The New Testament even if an angel from heaven brings a different gospel, that messenger is to be rejected Galatians 1:8-9.

It also warned that Satan is able to appear as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14

Nearly 600 years after Jesus, a claim arose of exactly such an angelic appearance delivering a different message about the way to God. Jesus had already declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” John 14:6. Any later message that sets this aside is, by the standard of Galatians 1:8-9, another gospel.

LOVE.
God is Love. God is Truth and does not Lie.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Love is patient

  • “And be patient, for your patience is only from Allah…” (An-Nahl 16:127)
  • “Allah loves the patient.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:146)
  • “O you who believe, persevere in patience… and fear Allah that you may prosper.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:200)
  • “Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure.” (Az-Zumar 39:10)

Love is kind

  • “And speak kindly to people.” (Al-Baqarah 2:83)
  • “A kind word and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury.” (Al-Baqarah 2:263)
  • “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you
  • affection and mercy.” (Ar-Rūm 30:21)
  • “Worship Allah… and be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbour, the distant neighbour…” (An-Nisāʾ 4:36)

It does not envy

  • “And do not wish for that by which Allah has favoured some of you over others.” (An-Nisāʾ 4:32)

It does not boast / it is not proud

  • “And do not walk upon the earth with arrogance. Indeed, you will never tear the earth apart, and you will never reach the mountains in height.” (Al-Isrāʾ 17:37)
  • “And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor walk in the land exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.” (Luqmān 31:18)
  • “Allah does not love the arrogant and boastful.” (An-Nisāʾ 4:36)

It does not dishonor others

  • “O you who believe, let not a people ridicule another people; perhaps they may be better than them… And do not insult one another and do not call each other by offensive nicknames.” (Al-Ḥujurāt 49:11)

It is not self-seeking

  • “They give preference over themselves even though they are in need. And whoever is protected from the selfishness of his soul – it is those who will be the successful.” (Al-Ḥashr 59:9)

It is not easily angered

  • “…and those who restrain anger and pardon people – and Allah loves the doers of good.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:134)

It keeps no record of wrongs

  • “And whoever pardons and makes reconciliation – his reward is with Allah.” (Ash-Shūrā 42:40)
  • “But if you pardon and overlook and forgive – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (At-Taghābun 64:14)
  • “And those who are patient and forgive, indeed that is of the matters requiring determination.” (Ash-Shūrā 42:43)

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth

  • The Quran repeatedly commands believers to forbid evil and enjoin what is right, and to speak the truth.
  • “O you who believe, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves…” (An-Nisāʾ 4:135)
  • Allah is repeatedly called Al-Ḥaqq (the Truth).

It always protects / always trusts / always hopes / always perseveres

  • “Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:159)
  • “And be patient… Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Al-Baqarah 2:153; also An-Nahl 16:127)
  • “Those who believe and do righteous deeds – the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.” (Maryam 19:96)
  • Patience and perseverance are repeatedly linked to reward without measure (Az-Zumar 39:10; Al-Qaṣaṣ 28:54).

Love never fails

  • The Quran presents God’s mercy and love as enduring: “My mercy encompasses all things.” (Al-Aʿrāf 7:156)
  • “He is the Forgiving, the Loving.” (Al-Burūj 85:14)
  • “Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.” (Maryam 19:96)
  • What is with Allah remains forever (An-Nahl 16:96).

25 mentions of Jesus ʿĪsā

by name in the Quran, given in full English translation (Clear Quran / Sahih International style)
Islamic believers affirm Jesus. He is called ʿĪsā ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary) in the Quran. He is one of the greatest prophets and messengers of God, ranked among the five “prophets of firm resolve.” Belief in him as a true prophet is required for a Muslim. The Quran mentions him by name 25 times—more often than it names Muhammad.

1. Al-Baqarah 2:87
Indeed, We gave Moses the Book and sent after him successive messengers. And We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the holy spirit. Why is it that every time a messenger comes to you ˹Israelites˺ with something you do not like, you become arrogant, rejecting some and killing others?

2. Al-Baqarah 2:136
Say, ˹O believers,˺ “We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.”

3. Al-Baqarah 2:253
These messengers: We favoured some above others. There are some to whom Allah spoke, and some He elevated in rank. We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the holy spirit. If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among themselves after receiving the clear proofs. But they differed—some believed while others disbelieved. Yet if Allah had willed, they would not have fought one another. But Allah does what He wills.

4. Āl ʿImrān 3:45
˹Remember˺ when the angels proclaimed, “O Mary! Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary; honoured in this world and the Hereafter, and he will be one of those nearest ˹to Allah˺.

5. Āl ʿImrān 3:52
When Jesus sensed disbelief from his people, he asked, “Who will stand up with me for Allah?” The disciples replied, “We will stand up for Allah. We believe in Allah, and bear witness that we submit ˹to Him˺.”

6. Āl ʿImrān 3:55
˹Remember˺ when Allah said, “O Jesus! I will take you and raise you up to Myself. I will deliver you from those who disbelieve, and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Judgment. Then to Me you will ˹all˺ return, and I will settle the disputes among you.”

7. Āl ʿImrān 3:59
Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be!” And he was.

8. Āl ʿImrān 3:84
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the descendants ˹of Jacob˺; and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord—we make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we ˹fully˺ submit.”

9. An-Nisāʾ 4:157
and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him—it was only made to appear so. Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge of it—only following assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.

10. An-Nisāʾ 4:163
Indeed, We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. We also revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the descendants ˹of Jacob˺, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And to David We gave the Psalms.

11. An-Nisāʾ 4:171
O People of the Book! Do not go to extremes regarding your faith; say nothing about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger of Allah and the fulfilment of His Word through Mary and a spirit ˹created by a command˺ from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers and do not say, “Trinity.” Stop!—for your own good. Allah is only One God. Glory be to Him! He is far above having a son! To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And Allah is sufficient as a Trustee of Affairs.

12. Al-Māʾidah 5:46
Then in the footsteps of the prophets, We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah revealed before him. And We gave him the Gospel containing guidance and light and confirming what was revealed in the Torah—a guide and a lesson for the God-fearing.

13. Al-Māʾidah 5:78
The disbelievers among the Children of Israel were condemned in the revelations of David and Jesus, son of Mary. That was for their disobedience and violations.

14. Al-Māʾidah 5:110
And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favour upon you and your mother: how I supported you with the holy spirit so you spoke to people in ˹your˺ infancy and as an adult. How I taught you writing, wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel. How you moulded a bird from clay—by My Will—and breathed into it and it became a ˹real˺ bird—by My Will. How you healed the blind and the leper—by My Will. How you brought the dead to life—by My Will. How I restrained the Children of Israel from ˹killing˺ you when you came to them with clear proofs and the disbelievers among them said, ‘This is pure magic.’”

15. Al-Māʾidah 5:112
˹Remember˺ when the disciples asked, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Would your Lord be willing to send down to us a table spread with food from heaven?” Jesus replied, “Fear Allah if you are ˹truly˺ believers.”

16. Al-Māʾidah 5:114
Jesus, son of Mary, prayed, “O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread with food to serve as a feast for us—the first and last of us—and as a sign from You. Provide for us! You are indeed the Best Provider.”

17. Al-Māʾidah 5:116
And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you ever ask the people to worship you and your mother as gods besides Allah?” He will answer, “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say? If I had said such a thing, You would have certainly known it. You know what is ˹hidden˺ within me, but I do not know what is within You. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Knower of all unseen.

18. Al-Anʿām 6:85
And ˹We guided˺ Zachariah, John, Jesus, and Elias—every one of them was of the righteous.

19. Maryam 19:34
That is Jesus, son of Mary. ˹And this is˺ a word of truth about which they dispute.

20. Al-Aḥzāb 33:7
And ˹remember˺ when We took a covenant from the prophets, as well as from you ˹O Prophet˺, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary. We took a solemn covenant from ˹all of˺ them

21. Ash-Shūrā 42:13
He has prescribed for you ˹believers˺ the same religion which He enjoined upon Noah, and which We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺, and which We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, ˹commanding:˺ “Uphold the faith, and make no divisions in it.” What you call the polytheists to is unbearable for them. Allah chooses for Himself whoever He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns ˹to Him˺.

22. Az-Zukhruf 43:63
When Jesus came with clear proofs, he declared, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to clarify to you some of what you differ about. So fear Allah, and obey me.

23. Al-Ḥadīd 57:27
Then We sent after them other messengers, and ˹after them˺ We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and granted him the Gospel, and instilled compassion and mercy into the hearts of his followers. As for monasticism, they made it up—We never ordained it for them—only seeking to please Allah, yet they did not observe it properly. So We rewarded those of them who were faithful. But most of them are rebellious.

24. Aṣ-Ṣaff 61:6
And ˹remember˺ when Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O children of Israel! I am Allah’s messenger to you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and giving good news of a messenger after me whose name will be Aḥmad.” Yet when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, “This is pure magic.”

25. Aṣ-Ṣaff 61:14
O believers! Stand up for Allah, as Jesus, son of Mary, asked the disciples, “Who will stand up with me for Allah?” The disciples replied, “We will stand up for Allah.” Then a group from the Children of Israel believed while another disbelieved. We then supported the believers against their enemies, so they prevailed.

All agree God is one God, a God of love of life, and that God does not lie.

  • God is one. Both affirm strict monotheism. The Quran repeatedly states there is only one God, with no partners, no equals, and no offspring. This matches the core confession I pointed to.
  • God does not lie. Correct. In Islamic teaching God is Al-Ḥaqq (the Truth) and is incapable of falsehood. His word is true, His promises are kept, and He does not deceive. This is consistent with the biblical affirmation that God cannot lie. It is solid common ground.
  • God of life. Both traditions teach God as the Creator and Giver of life. The darkened ways (falsehood, division, hardness of heart) are temporary and will pass; life and truth endure.
  • Jesus as messenger who spoke truth and did works of power. Muslims affirm the miracles and the prophetic call of Jesus exactly as listed above. They accept that he confirmed earlier scripture and called people to the one God. The places where they part company are the claims of divinity, the Trinity, and the crucifixion/resurrection as atonement. Those are the points of difference; the shared affirmations remain the virgin birth, the miracles by God’s leave, the prophetic mission, and the future return.

Jason to YahASon in Love
Video transcript and article foundation

You know that in love and God is love. So if I was to spend my day with all the things I could complain about. Bills, needless fights, always bad governments that is the foolish wasted time with the Devil.

I will spend my day in love. My day and good loving way is with God. God is Love.

Islam and its Islamic and the Muslims: They believe in Jesus,  they believe he’s a profit. Where are the similarities in all these different groups religions which are external temples which are corrupted OK but what are we all know the people that believe believe in God is one God. This is a God of love of life/LIGHT. All the darken ways are to die. Where is the similarities we can all agree with God is love God does not lie, a good foundation so let’s go from there.

So they are to say they believe OK they believe what do they believe that Jesus has said and done OK what do they not believe? I am in belief fulness and I will work too help others to see this as well. I will not do it in an anger, I will do everything today in love.

I have the darkened ways trying to take my light. Here’s this dorm of love OK it lasts forever love wins God’s love.

So be kind and use the intelligence of love to bring people together not separate and divide them. Love united we are to gain there is love and being together there is intelligence and grace and The New Covenant which is of grace it’s the gift from God it’s not one earned it is given.

Experience any part of your day where you were loving and kind and it is always good. What would you regret is cruelty, hostility, sadness, anger, you know all the negative things they are the dark storm and it will pass and die. The win in love and love is forever in the light and the light is life. Belief in Jesus will set you free from the veil, the harden heart, the poor ways and poor decisions the fallen ways and in anger and in spite and  sinful heart harden heart.

I seen a win yes I was shown love was to win, YES, I was actually called a winner.

If there is a disbelief that he is of God and God and was the Word and the Word was with God in the beginning and the Word was God and the Word was born into flesh?

OK so where are they in disagreement?

Now where is it that they are fighting and in this disagreement between being of God and from God and God — that part in which they are not agreeing. Where is the issue? Because in their choice of not belief it is not to hurt for instance me. Still of course it does actually because I have pain in another pain. Yet what I’m getting to is where is the conflict, what is the fight and what do they perceive as the solution.

God still wants you all to be loving and kind and Muslims believe that Jesus he is a prophet. Clarity. So the disagreement — where is the fight? You don’t have to agree with the whole planet. It’s fools. The entire planet is made up and constructed by foolish people in sin and darkened ways. A system of government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous rulers is called a kakistocracy and Satan is the father of lies and its his fools running the beast systems (Religions/Governments/Institutionalized-Liars and this list is many if you want it just ask)  .

We can agree on these things can we not? OK we can. So then we’re to disagree and agree and God has love for everyone. Does God say if you don’t agree with them hate them? Kill them? These questions are easy and I have my own answers. They should be yours as well. Love. Love wins of everyone even the ones you don’t agree with. Meaning they do not have to agree. There is no harm passed on to anyone else based on their sin it is their wage.

Scripture related to the conflict and the fight

The disagreement itself is clear and long-established:

Christians hold that the Word was with God in the beginning, the Word was God, and the Word became flesh (John 1:1, 14). Jesus is the unique Son of God.

Muslims hold that Jesus is a true prophet and messenger, but not divine, not the Son of God, and not God.

That difference is real. Scripture does not pretend the two views are the same.

Yet Jesus himself draws a sharp line between the disagreement and any justification for harm or hatred:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:43-45)

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” (Luke 6:27-28)

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34)

Jesus never says, “If they do not agree that I am the Son of God, hate them or harm them.” He says the opposite. Love is commanded even toward those who reject the full truth about him.

The apostles continue the same line:

“Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless…” (1 Peter 3:9)

“If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.” (Romans 12:18)

“Beloved, never avenge yourselves… ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.’” (Romans 12:19-20)

The fight is not authorized by Jesus. The disagreement about his identity is real and weighty. The command to love, be kind, and do no harm remains in force even when that disagreement stands. Love still wins—toward everyone, including those who do not agree.

The Islamic side on the disagreement and the fight

The core disagreement is the same one I already named:

Muslims believe Jesus (ʿĪsā) is a true prophet and messenger of God, born of a virgin, performed miracles by God’s permission, and will return. They do not believe he is the Son of God, divine, or that the Word became flesh and is God.

Now, does that disagreement itself command fighting, hatred, or harm toward Christians?

Clear Quranic instructions that limit or forbid harm based only on belief

  1. No compulsion in religion “There is no compulsion in religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong.” (Al-Baqarah 2:256)
  2. Kindness and justice toward those who do not fight you “Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes — from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion — that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.” (Al-Mumtaḥanah 60:8-9)

This is the clearest general rule: if they are not attacking you or driving you out because of religion, you are commanded to treat them with kindness (birr) and justice.

  1. Argue only in the best way “And do not argue with the People of the Book except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, ‘We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.’” (Al-ʿAnkabūt 29:46)
  2. Christians are described as nearest in affection “You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, ‘We are Christians.’ That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.” (Al-Māʾidah 5:82)
  3. Permission for social closeness Muslims are allowed to eat the food of the People of the Book and marry chaste women from among them (Al-Māʾidah 5:5). This is not the language of total enmity.

Where fighting is mentioned

Fighting appears in the Quran, but the conditions are not “they disagree about Jesus’ identity.” The usual conditions are:

  • Self-defense against those who fight you first (Al-Baqarah 2:190: “Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.”)
  • Being driven out of homes or persecuted for religion
  • Breaking treaties or active hostility

There is also the well-known verse about fighting People of the Book until they pay the jizya (Al-Tawbah 9:29). Classical interpretations place this in the context of political submission under Muslim rule after war, not a standing order to hunt and kill peaceful Christians simply for believing Jesus is the Son of God.

Summary of the Islamic side on “the fight”

According to the Quran itself:

  • Disagreement about Jesus being divine is real and firmly rejected.
  • That disagreement alone does not authorize hatred, harm, or killing of peaceful Christians.
  • The standing command toward those who do not fight Muslims or drive them out is kindness and justice.
  • Dialogue is to be done “in the best way.”
  • Christians are even singled out as the group nearest in affection to believers.

So on the question I asked — “where is the fight… or are they not fighting as instructed by God?” — the Quran’s own instruction, when they are not aggressors, is not to fight. It is to be kind and just, and to speak in the best manner.

Both sides (Jesus in the New Testament and the Quran) contain clear commands that disagreement does not equal permission to hate or harm. Love and kindness remain the required response toward those who do not agree.
