NOAH

NOAH

KNOW NOAH KNEW

I looked down at those two little
girls and all I had in my heart was love

Noah with insights and righteous views, this is of a very tough time in which God is seeing that all the hearts have been in sin, darkened and evil and foolish. It’s abundant to a point where there’s no good or unhardened hearted people on the planet.

I tried to make light of this. Well, it’s not light. It’s very heavy and dark. It’s so heavy that none of these people are going to float. They’re all going to sink to the depths of death. The only float to life and its water are with Noah and 7 others. And the water brought to wash and cleansing for the world with a purification from all the sinful ways. And the righteous family of Noah that is to step forth and repopulate and have another go at it in all with a new start.

You know, this is the first covenant, and then there is the one  to come with Abraham and then the Covenant of Moses and the law. The failings are many and consistent. Everyone should read the Old Testament. You know, there is the sinful heart—much representation of this hardened sinful heart—to the point where it is very clear we need The New Covenant of Grace. And God said he’s going to bring this New Covenant in, which he does.

But here we have a part in which he/Noah is of the opinion that he can’t have these two girls born, and he’s going to end their lives. This is a movie with some interpretations and creativity. But what I saw was that he couldn’t—and what I saw was love. I again love creativity and my creativity brings me closer to God in that I can find the love in every story and I can find the love in every song and most of the time I find many love songs and stories just from one.

And so again, to find a love story in a story that’s already there — you know, many other stories in which there is love. Like when he/Noah says that he couldn’t end their lives because when he looked at them, what was in his heart was love.

This is the agape love. It is the love that is closest to God. This is a love that is unconditional, and it attests to the love that God has for all mankind as well, and to the new covenant in which they are to receive essentially more grace.

I need to insert a comment here on this love, because this is where there is often misunderstanding. People have failed over and over again. God has given grace and forgiveness despite the endless failure under the law. It would be dishonest of me to soften this — when reading about some of the betrayals and the idolatry, these are things that hurt me deeply. Even with just a fraction of understanding of what is important to God, it is painful. Yet God still has absolute love for all of us.

It is essential for me to say this clearly: I do love the sinner, but I do not love the sin.

This is another go at it in a cleansed new world. And then there’s the new ways with Noahic Covenant and coming Abrahamic Covenant and the Mosaic Covenant of the Law which is of Moses. And we’re seeing these failings were very bad, and then they start over and they are to continue. So in where God says The New Covenant is to be brought in, and it is the one of Grace. It’s not earned. It’s not by those who follow the law. It’s an example as to the ones that couldn’t follow the law and failed. And The New Covenant of Grace—it’s a gift from God that keeps on giving. And it’s with Jesus and in belief of Jesus the Son of God, the Word and God.

I like to see how stories are interconnected and connecting and timeless in ways. We go from knowing yesterday no to no. Lessons learned is to KNOW. Some of the biggest fools, some of the biggest lessons. And this is, of course, for only those that learn them. Because there’s many so far that are far from learning their lessons.

And here’s the thing: I don’t know, maybe there’s lessons I still have to learn. Like how to get the enemy to be loved and forgiven and to turn to the New Covenant of Grace. I’m working on it. Ask my dog. He’ll tell you. Oh, darn it. Like the False Prophet Enemies Chewy my dog he doesn’t talk either.

But what I keep seeing with the enemy is their failings are mostly just not understanding. The love is a deeper love. It’s not the same as what I think most people understand love to be. Love isn’t based on performance. It is unconditional love. And this is the love of God.

This is also the love that Noah had at this time. And there was a lot of pain. It looked like he was drinking. This foolish way I KNOW/knew, do I know that pain!? I tried at times/YES, in my life to drink myself out of the pain and suffering. And that just had me fall deeper into this painful way.

I was one of the fools. I was the one to be flooded and in away and washed of all the sinful ways of this world. to be reborn in Jesus and with my new heart I could/can see all now. And with the enemy essentially what it is to remind me of is much like my dog who has no idea what I’m talking about. He doesn’t know about what I’m saying. His love is unconditional as well. His understanding of love—we have our little ritual. He comes into my bathroom when I’m having a bath in the morning because he knows it’s one of the most calming times in which he can get the attention that he wants.

What he feels love is, is the petting of himself. Like I pet him. I’ll give him cuddles and love. “Oh, Chewy, I love you.” And that’s what he understands love to be. His treats and so forth. But here’s what I also know: if someone was to attack me in front of my dog, he would show a different love. Because it wouldn’t have conditions. It’s not, “Oh, I got a treat.” I protect who I love.

And here I am also reminding everyone that the choice that I make every day is love. You too can make these choices. Love is always truthful. It’s honest. It’s not weighing up and measuring all the bad that was done to me. It’s not “I forgive already.” I don’t need them to call me and tell me they’re sorry. I would appreciate it though. But my love is true.

And I love my daughter Ava. And I hope to see her also with and in Jesus and The New Covenant of Grace—to be loving and believing Jesus and to truly know God that saved my life. To see and hear truth in that the enemy tried to take my life and I tried and continue to give them life. To understand this win in love is agape and unconditional love.

God is Love.

Notes related to the NOAH Movie and insights
The character who sneaks onto the Ark in the movie Noah is Tubal-Cain. He is a real historical and biblical figure, and his relationship to Cain is rooted in the Bible. In the film, this character encourages sinful behaviour as the will of man. While Tubal-Cain is a genuine person mentioned in Scripture, the storyline in the movie Noah is significantly altered with creative fictionalization.

His Lineage
In Genesis 4:22, Tubal-Cain is described as a forger of all instruments of bronze and iron. He is a direct descendant of Cain, the first murderer. His full lineage is listed as: Cain → Enoch → Irad → Mehujael → Methushael → Lamech → Tubal-Cain.
In the Torah, Tubal-Cain is only briefly mentioned as an early metalworker. However, Jewish Rabbinic literature and texts such as the Midrash and the Book of Enoch expand on these early genealogies.

Connection to Noah
In Jewish tradition, specifically in Genesis Rabba, Noah’s wife Naamah is the sister of Tubal-Cain. This would make Tubal-Cain Noah’s brother-in-law, rather than his mortal enemy. It is also emphasized in these texts that the flood was absolute, and that only the eight individuals aboard the Ark survived.

Genesis 4:22
Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.

Genesis 6
Wickedness in the World
When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah and the Flood
This is the account of Noah and his family.

Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.”

Noah did everything just as God commanded him.

Genesis 8
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

Then God said to Noah, “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”

So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.”

Genesis 9
God’s Covenant With Noah
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

Whoever sheds human blood,
by humans shall their blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made mankind.

As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

The Sons of Noah
The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said,

“Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers.”

He also said,

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
May God extend Japheth’s territory;
may Japheth live in the tents of Shem,
and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”

After the flood Noah lived 350 years. Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
