Knowing Your True Self in Jesus

1. Introduction – Truth Will Set You Free

Truth will set you free.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 8:32, John 14:6, John 3:16, 1 John 4:3)

When you come to Jesus and walk in His truth, the lies start to lose their grip. Dark spirits lose their leverage. Confusion, harassment, and identity attacks begin to fall away.

The Holy Spirit is not just comfort; He is the Spirit of Truth. In the name of Jesus, the Spirit of Truth lives with you and in you. When you know your true loving self in Jesus, you can shut down lies and dark spirits easily.

This article is my message to everyone:

  • Truth in us

  • Knowing who you really are in Jesus

  • The Holy Spirit as Spirit of Truth

  • How truth and love in Jesus expose and break Satan’s traps

So that you can see that the truth really does set you free.

2. The Branch From Jesse – Prophecy of Jesus

“The Branch from Jesse” is a biblical prophecy that points to Jesus. It shows that out of what looks dead and cut off, God brings new life, justice, peace, and truth.

The Branch from Jesse – Explanation

“The Branch from Jesse” is a biblical prophecy, found in Isaiah 11:1, that describes a “shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit”. In Christian theology, this refers to Jesus, a descendant of Jesse (King David’s father), who would come from a seemingly dried-up line to bring new life, peace, and salvation. This prophecy is also a popular theme for the “Jesse Tree,” a Christmas tradition of creating a family tree ornament for each day of Advent that represents biblical figures and stories leading up to the birth of Christ.

Isaiah 11 – The Branch From Jesse (NIV)

11 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
  or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
  on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

12 He will raise a banner for the nations
  and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish,
  and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed;
Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah,
  nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.
14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west;
together they will plunder the people to the east.
They will subdue Edom and Moab,
and the Ammonites will be subject to them.
15 The Lord will dry up
  the gulf of the Egyptian sea;
with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand
  over the Euphrates River.
He will break it up into seven streams
so that anyone can cross over in sandals.
16 There will be a highway for the remnant of his people
  that is left from Assyria,
as there was for Israel
when they came up from Egypt.

Jesus is this Branch and this Root of Jesse.
The Spirit of the Lord rests on Him — wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord.

That same Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, is given to us when we come to Jesus.

3. God’s Word – Truth That Endures

These Scriptures anchor what I’m saying. They are not my ideas; they are God’s Word.

Key Scriptures on Truth

John 8:32
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Proverbs 12:19
“Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.”

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Proverbs 12:19
“Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.”

1 John 4:3
“but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”

Matthew 12:37
“For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

John 17:16–18
16 “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.”

John 6:62–63 (NIV)
62 “Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before!
63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

Truthful lips endure.
The words Jesus spoke are full of the Spirit and life.
His word is truth; His Spirit is truth.

4. Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth

John 14:15–21, 23–27, 29–31

15 “If you love me, keep my commands.
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—
17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

25 “All this I have spoken while still with you.
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.
30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me,
31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.”

What This Means for Us

The Holy Spirit:

  • Is the Advocate

  • Is the Spirit of Truth

  • Lives with us and in us

  • Teaches us all things

  • Reminds us of everything Jesus said

  • Gives peace that the world cannot give

We are not left as orphans in a lying, dark world. In Jesus, we are filled with the Spirit of Truth.

5. Jesus, Demons, and the Weight of Words

Matthew 12:22–45 (Jesus and the Prince of Demons, and the Sign of Jonah)

Key Points from Matthew 12

  • A demon-possessed man is healed.

  • The Pharisees accuse Jesus of working by Satan.

  • Jesus shows that Satan cannot cast out Satan.

  • He explains that He casts out demons by the Spirit of God, meaning the Kingdom of God has arrived.

  • He warns about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

  • He says our words will either acquit or condemn us.

  • He explains what happens when an evil spirit leaves and returns with more spirits to a person whose “house” is empty.

Demons are real.
Satan has a kingdom and a strategy.
But Jesus, by the Spirit of God, is stronger and plunders Satan’s house.

Truth and lies are spiritual.
Our words matter. Our hearts matter. Our agreement matters.

6. Who Are You? – Knowing Your True Self in Jesus

Now I speak very personally.

I’ve joked that probably “five witches” still stalk me, casting spells and trying to tempt me into sex with witches. That’s a broom I’m not going to handle. It’s dark humor, but there’s truth underneath.

Dark spirits try to get into your head and make you think you are something else and someone else.

So I ask you:

Who are you?

Ask yourself:

  • Are you kind?

  • Do you lie?

  • Have you hurt anyone intentionally?

  • Would you?

In your true self in Jesus, the answer is:

  • I do not lie.

  • I have no reason to lie.

  • Truth is always the only answer; I don’t have to remember it. It just is.

The fools are always lying. They must remember all their lies to keep them going. That’s not wisdom. That’s slavery to deception and in sin.

When you figure out who you are in truth, rooted in love, things change.
If it is true and rooted in love, it is good.

7. Harassment Thoughts and “Harassment Demons”

We all have thoughts that repeat. Sometimes you make a list of what you need to do that day. That’s normal.

But when something keeps coming back after it’s already been resolved — the same fear, the same accusation, the same nagging — it can become harassment.

I call it a harassment demon.

You don’t have to accept every thought just because it appears in your mind. When you’ve already considered a matter and resolved it, ongoing torment around it is not “helpful reminder”; it’s harassment.

8. Rebuking Lying Spirits in the Name of Jesus

You can rebuke these thoughts and spirits in the name of Jesus.

A Simple Prayer

“In the name of Jesus, I rebuke all lying spirits and harassment.
I have already considered this. I already have the solution.
I will not be tormented by the same thing over and over.
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Truth, fill my mind and heart with Your peace and truth.”

Will it always stop instantly? Not always. These spirits are persistent. They test boundaries. But as you stand firm in Jesus and know who you are in Him, their grip weakens more and more.

For me, the foundation stays the same:

Love, truth, Jesus. It’s always a win.

The best victory in fighting spirits, witchcraft, and darkness is knowing who you are — your true self in Jesus, rooted in truth and love.

9. This World Run by Satan – But We Are Not of It

I see the world’s systems clearly now.

The world that is run by Satan is mostly lies, mostly set up to trap, fear, and harm:

  • Institutions and agencies that say they fight crime often organize it.

  • Demons are not fighting each other.

  • Satan’s army is rooted in darkness, pretending to do good while keeping people enslaved.

John 17:16 says:
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.”

We are not of this world’s system when we belong to Jesus.

There is a world beyond Satan’s lies. All his traps are built from lies and fear. He sells fake love, fake power, fake safety, fake comfort — all wrapping for emptiness and destruction.

10. The Lies We Tell Ourselves

Lies from others are bad. But the lies we tell ourselves can be even more dangerous.

I’ve had to face this myself:

  • I wanted to believe some people loved me who did not.

  • I wanted to believe people were for me when they were not.

  • I protected illusions to avoid pain.

Some of the worst betrayals I have suffered came from people I considered my closest. I had deep abandonment wounds. I wanted love I didn’t have. I filled the gap with lies in my own head.

One of these lies was a lifetime lie.

Facing it hurt. I cried. I suffer too. I’m not above pain.

But the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, exposed these lies. Not to crush me, but to free me.

If you can’t tell the truth to yourself, you can’t truly tell the truth to anyone else.

So I am honest:

  • I am emotional.

  • I cry a lot.

  • I feel deeply.

  • I care and I share.

And at the same time, I am happy in Jesus.
I can be “dry in a rainstorm.”
I love the rain. Even if there are tears in my eyes, I have “love powers” from God, and I share them with you.

11. Experiences, Warnings, and Discernment

I’ve had strange but real experiences:

  • Sitting in a room, feeling deeply uncomfortable about a knife, asking a friend to hide it, then coming back and knowing exactly where it was hidden.

  • Feeling, even then, that someone connected to that moment wanted to kill me.

  • Later in life realizing that person had indeed been involved in attempts on my life.

I’ve also seen myself at “three different times,” like choosing which version of me was the primary. These were real experiences for me, even if they sound strange.

I don’t demand anyone else believe every detail of what I see.
But I know this:

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, will guide you out of illusions and show you what you need to know, when you need to know it. Some things only make sense years later.

Truth will set you free — even from lies you didn’t know you were living in.

12. Only One “Spell” Works – God’s Love in Jesus

People cast all kinds of “spells”:

  • Living spells

  • Death spells

  • Lust spells

  • Confusion spells

They have tried to cast spells on me. They cannot kill me. They cannot own me. Their spells do not work on me.

There is only one “spell” that truly works, and it is not really a spell at all:

It is love.
It is God.
It is Jesus & Holy Spirit.

And that is One:

God is love.
There is no darkness in God.

When you stand under God’s love in Jesus:

  • No curse can hold you.

  • No lie can own you.

  • No dark spirit has legal ground inside you.

13. Knowing Yourself in Jesus – Beyond Feelings and Illusions

Knowing yourself in Jesus means:

  • You stop defending lies you want to be true.

  • You face hard truths about people and relationships.

  • You accept that some you love won’t love you back the way you hoped.

  • You forgive and let go, but you stand in truth.

You also learn that not every emotional “insight” is about the present moment. Some are warnings for later. Some are your wounds speaking. Some are the enemy attacking. Discernment is needed — and that discernment comes from the Spirit of Truth.

There is a world beyond Satan’s lies, beyond the illusions of this system. Jesus leads us into that reality.

14. My Life Given to Jesus – Love Wins

I know this timeline is limited.
Where I am now is not where I will be living in a month or a year.

But I know this:

I am dedicating my life to Jesus, to God,
to help everyone else find the win.

The win is also the prize:

Love.

I have a photo of myself with a sign that says “Love Wins.”
That sign is very telling. It sums up what I know and what I’m sharing:

  • Truth breaks lies.

  • Love breaks hate.

  • Jesus breaks all the bad stuff, brings light, and saves us from Satan’s trap — the wage of sin, which is death.

I’m here to help you see the truth in yourself:

  • That God loves you.

  • That Jesus died for you.

  • That the Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth) wants to live in you and guide you.

Don’t lie to yourself.
Don’t live in other people’s lies.
Don’t bow to the world run by Satan.

Come to Jesus.
Ask for the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.
Let Him show you who you really are in Him.

You are loved.
You are seen.
You are called out of darkness into His marvellous light.

“And you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.”

I love you. Amen. Amen.
